Brighton in dreck

Brighton have not won for 8 games and Sami Hyppia is coming under pressure. His defenders say that in the past 2 seasons the Seagulls have moved on their three best players – Bridcutt, Upson and Ulloa – so he has less resources than Poyet and Garcia. However his buys have been unconvincing, one hopes he can find us a striker please as our defenders score all our goals. We are confused by a set-up where the fulbacks are thrown forward supposedly to give width but leaving acres of space which Middlesbrough readiy exploited.  A foreign manager does not know the championship and cannot get loans so readily on the old boy network. The team seems flat and unmotivated and the crowd too. Once the Amex rocked and, after Greer pulled one back on Saturday, might have mounted a siege to get a draw but this did not happen.

I mentioned to Alan Tanner that Stockdale play a poor game against Middlesbrough and became a target for the boo boys. I referred to the loss of our best players but some of the lesser ones like Thomas Kuszhak in goal, Vicente and a Buckley are missed too.

Tonight we travel to Huddersfield who are  resurgent under Chris Powell and on Saturday entertain Rotherham who won at Norwich. If the run continues of no wins to 10 games Hyppia could be facing the chop.
