The Tanner Report
One of the interesting aspects of Fulham’s meltdown (1 point in 7 games) is how the club deals with it. I still get offers of match day hospitality etc. There seems to ba parallel universe in which 2 relegations in 2 seasons are not part of the stratosphere. Traditionally the program was the interface. Here chairman Khan’s words are elegantly phrased by his PR man Jim Woodcock. He is, we are told, a custodian. Felix Magath has been less diplomatic. He has moved on from being the only one to share our frustration. Felix, you caused it.
There have been messages put up by skipper Scott Parker and youngster Emerson Hyndman in which they seek our support. Support has to be earned, it is not a right.
The most interesting reaction is from the fans. Of course we must support our team but a significant group including me would have hoped that the defeat at Nottingham Forest would have hastened the departure of one of Fulham’s most hapless managers.
