Just in

What goes up can also come down

Spotted today upon the website of The Guardian, this thought-provoking piece by David Conn on the plight of Coventry City – once fleetingly a mighty force in football’s landscape – which has now fallen upon harder times as (most recently) a tenant of nomadic rugby Premiership team Wasps.

There are always winners and losers in the eternal struggle of sports clubs to remain viable with a business plan that is both realistic and works. Success on the field helps, of course, but it is not always essential. The noblest and best intentions do not by themselves necessarily bring reward and poor or inefficient stewardship of corporate organisations can occur anywhere in any industry.
