It’s appropriate to honour the life and passing of Nice resident Michel Bacos who was pilot of the Air France plane hijacked in July 1976 by a Palestinian terrorist group whose hostages were ultimately saved by Israeli commandos led by Yonattan Netanyahu elder brother of the Israeli PM.

There is no finer example of extreme bravery and duty in exceptional and unforeseen circumstances. Here is his obituary – Michel Bacos
