Rory Is back
I always thought that the break up of Rory McIlroy’s relationship with his childhood sweetheart was a tad simplistic a reason for loss of form and therefore when he called if off with Caroline Woznacki there would be not be a slump in form again. It seems I was proved right as Rory has followed his victory in the PGA at Wentworth by leading the Memorial in Ohio by 3 shots.
I believe he is the heir apparent to Tiger Woods. Of his fellow Brits, Luke Donald has a consistent game and his short play touch is brilliant, but he lacks power off the tee; Justin Rose is playing well and already has one major but is the wrong side of 30; Graeme McDowell does not look to be adding to his one major. As for Americans, Jimmy Walker is racking up the dollars but has no major yet, Bubba has two and a power game but can blow up. There is fine crop of youngsters of which Jordan Spieth is the best. Rory has two majors in his golf bag, youth on his side, a beautiful swing and the focus to win a lot more. In fact I will stick my neck out and predict he will surpass both Seve and Nick Faldo and be the most successful Euopean of all time.
