I am a bit late on this French series spoofing a film star agency.
It’s now become so popular that actual film stars appear as supposed clients of the agency.
The first episode featured that excellent film actress Cecile de France.
After being offered a leading part in a Quentin Tarantino movie the offer is withdrawn as she is deemed too old. Her agent representing her in the agency is too scared to tell her.
A new p/a in the agency tells her in the lift. The agency then applies pressure for the decision to be reversed.
The humour – situation, character and dialogue – is first rate, so is the acting with the bonus of shots of Paris.
Comedy is a neglected but first rate part of French cinema.
There is a paradox as the French are proud to the point of chauvinistic but can and do send up themselves as well as the film star agency business.
Well worth watching.
