A great weekend of Sussex Sport

Brighton trounced Spurs 4-1 away and finished  in 8th spot with the very remote possibility of European competition (if so they might well meet Fiorentina) and Sussex are now second in the Championship after beating Hampshire.

The win in 3 days was achieved without Ollie Robinson and Dan Hughes with Jack Carson taking 5 for 26.

John Simpson (surely the best wicketkeeper/ batsman  in the country) scoring his third century of the season.

Brighton – after being one down – came back with 4 goals.

Perhaps Spurs were hungover after winning the Europa League?

Fabian Hürzeler ‘s first season – one of transition – at the helm of Brighton must be judged a success whilst Paul Farbrace can only be pleased with Sussex’s fine start of 3 wins after 10 years out of the top flight.

Sussex sport is on the march!
