A la Colthard/The Big Easy

Too many restaurant critics are not considerate, by which I mean they will review the latest opening but not a well-established chain which offers value.

Such a chain is The Big Easy which a good friend of mine recommended and we sampled last week. We went to the Covent Garden one in Maiden Lane next to Rules.

They offer an Express Lunch which comprises half a lobster served with chips , salad pand Prosecco for £15.

My friend had a burger and prosecco. Total bill just over £40. How good is that ?

The service was friendly and welcoming. It’s obviously popular with families and their kids so it was packed.

The manager apologised, when I paid, that he should have got in extra staff as it was half term week.

This was a great discovery and an ideal place to take kids on a trip to the West End.
