A worthy read
Occasionally in this life you has to acknowledge the amateur’s humble truth, an echo of that tried-and-trusted peddled by businessmen and careerists (“People who can, do – people who can’t, teach”), i.e. there are some operating in your area of special hobby interest who are professionals for the eminently justifiable reason that they’re just better at it than you are.
One of those I’d happily place in this elite category is Andrew Rawnsley, whom I believe technically plies his trade for The Observer, which means (because they are in the same business group) that his pieces appear on the website of The Guardian.
