Once again Brighton delivered a fine performance only to lose.
In the first half in which Adam Lallana was supreme and might have had a hat-trick they only had his well-taken goal to show for their supremacy.
In the second half Leicester played much better to run out winners.
As with the Crystal Palace and WBA games Brighton were left ruing how they lost.
I do admire Leicester.
Over the last few seasons they have sold Ngoyo Konte, Danny Drinkwater and Ben Chilwell to Chelsea, Harry Maguire to Manchester Utd, Mahrez to Manchester City – that is half their team – but they are still second in the table recruiting more than capable replacements in Soyuncu, Justin and Tielemans and retaining James Vardy and Casper Schmeichel.
Brighton have held onto their bright youngsters like Ben White and Yves Bissouma.
They recently announced a £62 million loss because of Covid and chairman Tony Bloom has injected £50m so one of these stars might well be transferred.
A more immediate problem is relegation. Brighton are only 3 points clear of the zone with Newcastle and Fulham playing today.
