With an away win at Varona on Wednesday and a comprehensive victory at home yesterday over Frosinone the Viola are back on top of the serie a. There had been some unrest amongst the fans. The most partisan gather at the Curva Fiesole. One a “Lanciatori” (a supporter who turns his back on play to orchestrate the chants) was fined for not being in his allocated seat. This is really a joke as no one in that end stays in their seat. The Curva responded by cancelling their choreograph for the Roma game which we lost 1-2. Those who know our history know that it’s very rare that the 4  elements of the club  team, fans, manager, owners all pull together. The Dalle Valle brothers have done a lot for the club but they should be prepared to spend more. We finished fourth and outside the the Champions  league postions 3 seasons running so another €20m invested in the team might just make the difference.

Fronisone, after climbing from the depths of the serie c are not long for  this division. The difference in class could not have been more stark . Manager Paolo Sousa was able to rest a few players from Wednesday and Rebic looked effective out on the right. We put four goals past Frosinone in a twenty minute spell in the second half . There is enough depth in the squad to sustain a challenge. It’s an odd serie a when Juve are not in contention but Inter under Roberto Mancini will be a threat as well as Roma and Napoli. Milan won 3-1 at Lazio so the two northern powerhouses are definitely resurging. Strangely the Viola are bottom of their Europa League groups after two home defeats to Basel and Lech Posnan. Thus the away game at Posnan this Thuersay is vital for our chances of making the next round.
