Fulham 2 Brighton 1

No doubt about it. Fulham have got the wood over us.

Even Marvo Silva admitted a draw would be the fairer result. In Carlos Baleba we had the most effective player on the pitch – we had a goal chalked off and – Mituma was always a threat.

Yet we lost. once again to a very late goal.

Alan Tanner complained that the Fulham midfield of Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi, Sandor Berge and Kevin were seemingly incapable of an accurate forward pass but I replied that the pressing of the indefatigable Baleba might have been the reason for this.

Alan Tanner was a  perfect host and our relationship was not strained when I said his team was fortunate. Both keepers (Bart Verbruggen and Bernd Leno) might have done better with the Wilson and Ayari shots.

As I trudged back to Brighton I could only rue that this was the third time that I had seen Fulham scored a late goal in the Premiership against us to get a result …
