He’s the Man
Administrators in the world of art and museums often spend a greater proportion of their time under fire for their apparent lack of acumen, ingenuity and inspiration than perhaps they should.
Good intentions are fine, but in the modern world of political correctness, challenging economic circumstances and endless campaigns from nations or racial groups and communities for the return of their treasures to their countries or areas of origin, away from the great auction houses, administration is not a career for the faint-hearted.
Nevertheless today a Rust thumbs-up from me to whomever – or whichever group – came up with the British scheme to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo via a 12 museums in 12 cities effort of his drawings from the Royal Collection.
