My sporting weekend

Bryson DeChambeau won the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, fighting off the challenge of Lee Westwood.

Lee Westwood’s resurgence of form makes European Ryder Cup captain Pod Harrington’s job easier as he has only 3 discretionary picks.

DeChambeau’s driving did not destroy the course – in high winds he had less control but his chipping and putting are underrated.

One of my each way picks Jason Kokrak delivered the bacon with a top 8 finish.

Liverpool’s poor home form and attractive odds persuaded me to oppose them in their match against Fulham.

I also thought pre-match that Fulham’s mean defence would keep the goals down and backed under 1.5 goals.

Successful, I used my winnings to oppose Manchester City against Manchester United – ending the weekend with a tidy sum in the war chest for the so-called 5th Major this week: the Players Championship at Sawgrass.

Following my policy of each way value I fancy a tickle on Jordan Spieth and Daniel Berger.
