On the tee with John Pargiter

Our Japanese Rusters have been dominating the posts but quietly Pargie has been restoring his betting confidence and war chest thanks mainly to that ace analyst Jeremy Chapman.

Two weeks ago he picked out Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele for the HSBC Shanghai Masters. Both finished winner and runner up respectively.

This weekend for the Turkish Airlines event he had no less than 4 picks in the top five going in to the final day: Tyrell Hatton, Matthias Schwab, Robert MacIntyre and Patrick Reed.

At the finish of round 4 no less than 6 golfers including Hatton and Schwab contested the play-off which Hatton won at a tasty price. Hatton has not been in great form so this was some selection.

Readers may not be familiar with the Austrian Schwab and Scot MacIntyre but these two young golfers have had terrific seasons are in the contention for the Race to Dubai.

I missed out on a couple of hundred sovs by Schwab finishing second, he missed out on £1.58m prize money.

In the post-Tiger world, though he is captain and playing in the upcoming Presidents Cup, a number of other young golfers are asserting themselves. Schauffele is one, Abraham Ancer the Mexican another, and the Camerons Champ and Smith both are worth backing.

Anyway going into Xmas the Pargie treasure chest brimmeth over.
