The ATT at Pebble Beach

Alan Tanner rightly takes centre stage of the Rust today after Fulham ‘s victory over Everton but give some credit to Pargie who had wagers on Maverick McNealy, Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay at the ATT at Pebble Beach.

The former finished runner up to winner Daniel Berger and the latter two both third.

I had never heard of Maverick McNealy and when he was recommended by Joe Champion in the Racing and Football Outlook it was his name that attracted me.

Champion did not recommend Jordan Spieth but I noted a comeback last week and duly backed him.

Though he did not win he is returning to his 3 Major  form.

Patrick Cantlay I backed to win. He carded a 62 to lead in the first round but could not maintain this form.

McNealy, now 26, was a top amateur and young prospect.

He does not need to have any financial worries.

His father sold his company Sun Microsystems for $7.4b.

Berger and Cantlay show the depth of talent in the post-Tiger Woods era. Both should make the US Ryder Cup team.
