The Masters
Scottie Scheffler was a worthy winner of the Masters.
He may not have the length off the tee of Dustin Johnson, nor the iron play of Collin Morikawa, nor the silky putting touch of Cameron Smith but he possesses an all-round game and excellent composure.
Whatever your lead, it’s always a pressure to be be leading but in the final round Scheffler saw off the challenge of Cameron Smith with some accurate chipping.
Rory McIlroy finished runner-up and one hopes Scheffler gets his due – and not that many column inches are devoted to Tiger Woods and Rory.
It was a happy tourney for me, having backed Scheffler to win and Will Zalatoris and Correy Connors each-way.
With 2 more each-ways that survived the course of the Grand National – Fiddler On The Roof and Lighthouse Poet – and opposing Manchester City in a superb weekend of sport ended with the Pargie war chest in funds.
