What’s happening in sport …

Today I am going to provide links to three sports articles of potential interest spotted as I trawled the UK’s national newspapers overnight:

We have featured one of rugby’s – and indeed all contact sports’ – key ‘health & welfare’ issues, i.e. head injuries and concussion. It has been a huge issue for America’s NFL and also been the subject of controversy between different scientific research projects and even school/parent safety advice and whether or not kids should be encouraged to take up contact sports at all. Here’s another worrying report – this time penned by John von Radowitz, as appears today upon the website of – THE INDEPENDENT

Nick Holt, cricket news correspondent, interviews Lalit Modi – founder of the IPL, about the way that cricket, not least the Test match variety, may be going – see here – on the website of the – DAILY TELEGRAPH

Barney Ronay takes a laid-back view of a threat to a cricketing institution as TalkSport outbids the BBC for the radio broadcasting to England winter tours – see here – THE GUARDIAN
