Yours bionically

I have had my booster jab.

As with my first and second vaccination the organisation was spot on with a minimum of waiting and a very cheerful nurse administering.

I was also given a helpful leaflet on the effects of the injection.

My chief medical advisor – Grania – warned that I may feel unwell and her best friend Polly, my p/a, sent a message of concern and put herself on standby.

There was no need as – aside from a sore arm, mild headache and fatigue – I suffered from no serious symptoms and continued with my normal routine for Wednesday of a nap in the afternoon and watching Rumpole of the Bailey in the evening before retiring at my normal early hour.

In unseasonably warm weather I was also able to read on my balcony.

It is almost de rigeur to criticise the government over its Covid policy but in the administration of vaccinations you could say ‘a great job with the jab’.

Above all I feel I’m a bionic man and though the pandemic is by no means over in terms of cases and transmission I’m now well-placed to deal with it.
