Just in

A week is a long time …

Last week I praised my local supermarket ASDA over the efficiency and courtesy shown when I  did my weekly shop.

Today I castigate it.

I returned at roughly the same time yesterday and was agreeably surprised to see a shorter queue. I duly waited in it till 8.00am for its opening.

There was another queue at the other side of the store. One person in our queue was not sure which queue to be joining and the person between us at a social distance enlightened him that this was for NHS workers.

8.00am passed and I was beginning to feel cold, hungry and in need of a loo. Eventually I asked a security man when we might enter as I am a diabetic and in need of some food.

He said 8-45am/9.00am. I said last week it had opened  by 8.00am. He replied it did not.

Unfortunately for this oaf, clearly used to working as doorman on clubs and pubs, I am blessed with a total recall memory. So I recall the time, content and identity of the pharmacist and teller I had seen before 8.30am.

Oaf also said the info was on the website. Know-all behind me confirmed it was not. I confirmed this for myself.

Oaf said there were posters everywhere. There were none. So what to do? I went home.

A few years ago my first reaction would be to complain. I may well still do so.

However I decided to address first how I would acquire those items I would have bought at ASDA.

Simple really. 70% of them were readily obtainable on AMAZON PRIME. Some of these are being delivered today. ASDA has lost a regular shopper.

The Curse of Tickler which  accounts for the decline of M & S is on them.
