The Tanner Report: Wolves 1 Fulham 0
This was a far more encouraging performance but the table still shows Fulham at the bottom of it with no wins and no points.
In particular the defence was more resolute with keeper Alphonse Areola giving his best performance to date.
Areola was number three choice at PSG, ironically the number 2 Sergio Rico was at Fulham two years ago in the Premiership.
A promising career that took Areola to Real Madrid and international honours stalled.
His shot stopping against Wolves was outstanding and it took an excellent strike from Neto to beat him.
Fulham might have equalised when Ademola Lookman spun and set Alex Mitroivic free with a superb long pass.
Mitrovic unselfishly chose to pass to the unmarked Abou Kamara who had the whole goal to shoot at but he aimed straight at the keeper.
Lookman and Areola were the positives but the collective performance showed much more hunger.
PSV Eindhoven defender Timo Baumgati has signed and hopefully this should make a difference.
The 3 attacking midfielders Ivan Cavalleiro, Bobby Decordova -Reid and Joe Bryan did not make an impact so the system may yet need more tweaking.
In October, Fulham play Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and WBA.
Seven points are vital from these games to maintain some hope of emerging from the relegation zone.
