The Tanner Report: Blackburn Rovers 0 Fulham 7

53 years ago, in the days when there were neither internet nor mobile, the score line Halifax Town 0 Fulham 8 was announced on the radio.

I had to check the score with a mate. It remains Fulham’s biggest away victory though we put 10 past Ipswich Town on Boxing day 1963 at Craven Cottage. I thought last night that away record might be beaten.

Blackburn were in good form with back-to-back wins.

Chilean forward Rob Brereton was in a prolific vein of scoring. However, after Fulham took an early lead through Neeskens Kebano, victory seemed assured.

Alex Mitrovic scored his 19th of the season, Harry Wilson added 2 more after Blackburn defender Van Der  Hecke was red-carded for trying to decapitate him, Kebano scored again and sub Munoz headed a brace to complete the rout.

All this was achieved without Tete, Tosin, Fabio Carvalho and Tom Cairney starting.

We are in a good place right now.

We play Peterborough away this Saturday and then Barnsley at home, Derby at home and Preston away before the big clash with Bournemouth.

In the last 4 games we have scored 20 goals and conceded one.  We are closing in on Bournemouth, who unexpectedly lost their unbeaten record to Preston last night, and are 4 points clear of WBA in third place.
