The Tanner Report: Fulham 1 Bournemouth 1

You have to hand it to Scott Parker.

He can surprise the opposition with training ground moves.

With us in the key play-off final v Brentford, Joe Bryan’s free kick caught their keeper well off his line.

Returning last night as manager of Bournemouth Parker clearly worked a number on his former club when, straight from the kick off of the second half, Billings chipped forward to star striker Dominic Solanke who promptly gave the Cherries the lead.

However 45 minutes is a long time to hold out against a team that has scored 47 goals this season.

The Cottagers pressure mounted in intensity but the equaliser came from defender Tosin with only 6 minutes left.

This was a great game.

When first meets second it can be cagey.

This game flowed with bright football by both teams.

Fulham coach Marco Silva thought Fulham superior but – to quote Mandy Rice Davies – “He would, wouldn’t he?”

We created more chances, Harry Wilson was denied a penalty when tripped and Bournemouth were hanging on by foul rather than fair means.

Yet I thought a draw a fair reflection that will suit both clubs as they begin to pull clear from the rest.
