The Tanner Report: Fulham 6 Bristol City 2

Fulham’s season is very much back on track with 3 consecutive wins scoring 14 goals.

Some – notably Fulham TV commentator Gentleman Jim McGullion – would argue that it was never derailed as we only slipped out of the top two because of cancelled games due to the opposition being unable to field a team.

Nonetheless we did go 5 games without a win.

We had our worries yesterday playing Bristol City for the second Saturday running.

We beat them in the FA Cup only to draw Manchester City away in the next round.

Yesterday we went one down and then trailed 2-1.

Then, in a wonderful spell, we scored three with a first half hat-trick from Alex Mitrovic, his third  treble before half time.

No one could remember another Fulham player who scored three  such hat-tricks in one season as Mitro has done.

This is all the more remarkable as we are only half way through the season and Mitro has netted 27 goals in 24 outings.

Neeskens Kebano contributed a brace – one a glorious pull down, swivel and fierce shot at the near post.

The best goal came from the twinkling feet of Fabio Carvalho, who dribbled through the Bristol defence and coolly clipped the ball to score.

We added two in the second half with us greedy fans wanting a second successive 7 score line after achieving that against Reading in midweek.

Bourenemouth were two down at Luton but fought back to 2-2 only for the Hatters to score a late winner.

So Fulham are back on top of the league with an impressive goal difference.

We will take some shifting.
