FA fixing the fixers? You’re having a laugh

Don’t hold your breath that the FA will root out the betting fixers. Indeed Alex Horne of the FA says it’s not a serious problem. The FA has an official betting partner. Indeed William Hill is more than “the bookie of choice “, it’s an actual sponsor, its logo prominently displayed on the back board when interviews are given by players and Roy Hodgson. Several Premier clubs’ shirts are sponsored by Internet betting companies. Fulham’s shirt displays online bookmaker Marathon. Talksport are often sponsored by Befred. In castigating the fixers do we smell the whiff of hypoocrisy here?
The next good cause for the FA is alcoholism. Their drink sponsor is Carlsberg, who no doubt pay handsomely for their sponsorship and consider it worthwhile .
