Liverpool 4 Fulham 3

Although Fulham must feel disappointed in losing a game that we were winning with 3 minutes of regulation time left, there were positives to be drawn.

The first was the performance against a Liverpool team unbeaten this season at Anfield.

The second was scoring 6 goals in a week in a side that had struggled to score since Alex Mitrovic left.

The third was the performance of Antonee Robinson who has made defensive errors of late.

He and Alex Iwobi showed enormous energy and blocked Liverpool’s right flank attack.

Few Fulham fans were confident of a win before the game.

We have some win-able games ahead against teams below us: Nottingham Forest this Wednesday, Burnley, Bournemouth away and – if we get say 10 points from them – then we will have 25 going into the New Year and the target of 40 attainable.

I followed the game on the website commentary.

The commentator ‘Gentleman Jim’ thought the challenge by Tsimikas on Tim Ream was unlawful.

It led to Liverpool’s winner, but watching the highlights on Sky I could see no foul.

As usually happens, the story vested in the big boys especially as Liverpool’s 4 goals came from superb strikes.

Yet Fulham played their part too in a memorable thriller.
