New season fixtures
The release of the the fixtures yesterday for season 2020/21 is always a highlight though at this stage you can only pencil these in as tv will make their choice. Fulham open with an enticing game v Arsenal at Craven Cottage and it’s likely to be televised.
The choice – dilemma might be a better word – for coach Scott Parker is how much he changes the team that won promotion.
When we brought in expensive imports and loanees last time round 2 years ago, it did not work well and teams like Brighton and Sheffield United have done better by keeping the promotion squad and esprit de corps more intact. We and Aston Villa fared worse with expensive signings.
Sadly it looks like closed doors will be followed by limited entry and the Great Debate of attendance versus tv-watching not a debate at all but force majeur.
