Just in

Nice in April

Once again the Rust Travel team are in Nice.

The planning was not without its moments as Bob Tickler made it clear he did not like budget online airlines and I had booked us on Easyjet.

He said every time he went online they tried to sell him something he neither wanted nor needed and the “skip” icon was the smallest on the page.

He was drawn to Aero – who operate an air taxi – until I told him that it was 25 times the cost.

Then I had a brainwave.

He has become unsteady on his pins over this last year so I enquired about ‘special assistance’.

This comes at no extra cost and he was whizzed through passport control at both ends – and security – in a “fast track” service.

“The only way to travel” he declared whilst on andfrom his buggy proceeding to the gate.

I also persuaded him to take one small cabin bag.

On arrival at Nice a limo was waiting and, as it purred along the Promenade des Anglais, I could detect the quiver of excitement from the Rusters that we were back in Nice.

Dinner was taken in our favourite restaurant in the market Le Safari and we partook of Daube, a meaty stew served on fresh ravioli.

It was good to be back.
