The Tanner Report : Fulham 0 Wolves 1

It’s looking gloomy now with 6 games left.  Six.  More victories than Fulham have achieved all season.

Four more than the two home wins against both over the teams below us WBA and Sheffield United.

Fulham did not deserve a win last night. Only a highly debatable chalking off of a goal as offside in extra time of the first half prevented Fulham from going one down.

Another extra time in the second half shot at the near post which keeper Areola might have parried gave Wolves a victory.

At best Fulham deserved a draw.

Scott Parker have a typical impassioned post-defeat interview as often using a boxing metaphor of getting off the canvas. I could not see such passion on the pitch.

Typical of this and his performance was that of Ruben Loftus Cheek.

He failed to head home a scoreable chance early on and disappeared from the game.

Too often the final ball was careless.

The only person whose reputation improved was Terence Kongolo bought from Huddersfield.  He made some decisive interceptions.

We lack a leader on the pitch: a player like Lewis Dunk who has been 10 years with the club and will set a standard, a big personality in the changing room and on the pitch.

It’s not over.

If Newcastle lose at Burnley then it’s still 3 points difference with Newcastle the visitors for the last game of the season

However, as a supporter that has witnessed 6 relegations and several narrow escapes from it, I really don’t see this team avoiding the drop.
