The Tanner Report : Fulham 1 Liverpool 1
This was a decent, spirited performance by Fulham but not one that could reverse the 2-1 first leg deficit and halt the Liverpool juggernaut.
Bernd Leno, who has been the epitome of reliability as Fulham’s keeper, got a weak hand to Diaz’s shot which gave Liverpool the lead.
Fulham’s best attacking option was the left side down which Antonee Robinson operated with pace and his low crosses to the far post have resulted in many a goal.
In the second half it was the unlikely combination of Harry Wilson, who beat Bradley and crossed for Issa Diop’s thigh, to equalise.
Any hope of a winner evaporated as Klopp introduced Kanouté to shore up the Reds’ defence.
There was no disgrace to losing to a team that could end up with 4 trophies built on experience and youth.
