The Tanner Report: Fulham 2 Nottingham Forest 1

We maintained the form that achieved a draw at Liverpool and wins at Chelsea and Newcastle with a well-deserved victory over Forest who won 7 games consecutively in December and had put 7 past Brighton.

In terms of performance it might just be our best this season with Forest having no answer to the pace and power of Adama Traoré.

This attests to the coaching competence of Marvo Silva.

Traoré ‘s weakness had been his end product but his crossing has improved.

A cleverly-flighted cross to the far post was met by a header from Émile Smith Rowe.

1-0.

The Forest equaliser was slightly lucky and against the run of play.

Commentator Gentlemam Jim was exercised by this but, watching the highlights, Chris Wood took it well. Both Wood  and Raul Jimenez are old-fashioned centre forwards but prove that age is no barrier as both are over 30 and regular scorers this season.

However, with only one forward, the attacking midfielders must score too and Alex Iwobi, Émile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson have all contributed.

Provided that Fulham do not let up they might qualify for the Conference League.

This has both pros and cons. The pros are that you can attract better players and sign up those shortly out of contract (e.g. Kenny Tete and Adama Traoré) and fans enjoy a jolly into Europe. The cons are that it does not generate much money and stretches your playing resources.
