The Tanner Report : Walham Green walloped

No victory means more to a Fulham supporter than beating their SW6 rivals aka Walham  Green .  Over the years we have lived in their shadow and in the Jose Mourinho era they would win 2-0 with Frank Lampard invariably scoring. We were unlucky to lose at Stamford Bridge earlier this season when Josh King’s goal was chalked off.

I had a good feeling we could win last night as we are in a rich vein of form and Chelsea head coach has departed. The camera was on his replacement Liam Rosenior who -as well as his dad – played for us.

Chelsea started brightly exploiting our weakness at corners  The game changer came in the 22nd minute when Marc Cucurella manhandled Harry Wilson and was red carded  He protested to referee Peter Bankes as did 3 Chelsea players who were yellow carded  One of Rosenior’s first issues is to address Chelsea indiscipline  It was 0-0 at half time but shortly after that Raul Jimenez met Sandor Berge’s cross with a smart header . 1-0  Fulham then accountably ceded territory to Chelsea who equalised ( surprise , surprise ) from a corner that was not properly cleared

This Fulham side does not know when it’s beaten  and took the game to Chelsea  Wilson gathered Sanchez’  clearance , burst into the box and with his weaker right foot found the corner of the net . Chelsea’s resistance ended.

A few months ago Fulham were toured for elevation Now we are only 2 points behind 5th place Brentford  -an achievement all the more remarkable as we lost 3 players to AFCON and Ryan Sessegnon . Josh King . Rodrigo Muniz and Kenny Teté to injury
