THE TANNER REPORT/Cardiff 2 Fulham 4
Last season Fulham beat Newcastle home and away, Huddersfield too, with an aggregate of 9-1 and even the most fanatical Brighton is gobstruck that their team won all 6 points. We have maintained the excellent record against the top teams by winning at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United and over Cardiff on Wednesday. This was our best performance of the season.
Although Stefan Johansen was my man of the match, everyone played well and contributed to a strong win. Only coach SJ seems to think Ryan Sessegnon is best at left back. Against Sheffield United he scored a hat-trick and he found the net against Cardiff after cutting inside the defender, getting his body into shape at full speed before executing a clinical strike. It’s not the perfect compliment because the competition is not exactly hot but he is the best finisher in the club. Provided we get the incoming transfers of a left back, up front and central defence, there is now every hope of a play-off place.
