West Ham 0 Brighton 0

The only person that could have been pleased by this dull goalless draw was our own Pargie who backed it.

Brighton – down to the walking wounded because of an ever-lengthening injury list, not helped by Asian Cup and African Cup of Nation calls -arguably had the better against a luck-lustre West Ham side but, in a game of few chances, this result seemed to reflect the play.

Brighton certainly missed the tricky wing play of Koury Mitoma but may draw some pleasure from their first clean sheet since May.

Although West Ham won at the Amex last August, this was their first ever Premier victory over Brighton who are their nemesis.

Both are mid-table clubs and the only losers were those watching.
