Nice considered

Over rose on the balcony, the virtues of Nice were considered by the group.

I offered the traditional view of the blueness of the Bay.

Bob observed that there was a pleasing contrast between the quaintness of the Old Town and the commercial centre of high-end shopping.

Polly offered the view that the airport is so conveniently situated at the end of the curve of the bay.

Admittedly, this results in almost unrelenting noise as the aeroplanes descend to land but somehow this does not seem to matter.

Others offered the lively restaurant life and some the public art – like the famous Blue Chair on the Promenade des Anglais.

All agreed that the views were stunning, especially from the high vantage point of the chateau.

With more and more working from home – and with a flight under two hours from England – I can foresee some of them spending winter here in order to avoid those short days and cold weather.
